Press Release
Outline of TOKYO GAME SHOW 2004
Period: September 24, (Fri.) - 26 (Sun.), 2004
Venue: Nippon Convention Center (Makuhari Messe)

The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA, chairman: Kenzo Tsujimoto, location: Tokyo) and Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. (president: Yukoh Kawamura, location: Tokyo) are pleased to announce TOKYO GAME SHOW 2004, to be held at the Nippon Convention Center (Makuhari Messe , Chiba City) from September 24 (Fri.) through 26 (Sun.).

This will be the 14th TOKYO GAME SHOW since it was first held in 1996. TOKYO GAME SHOW has been co-organized with Nikkei Business Publications, Inc., since 2002. Last year's show saw a number of achievements: the number of visitors exceeded 150,000 for the first time since it was held in autumn 1999, and the number of exhibitors and overseas media reached a record high.

For TOKYO GAME SHOW 2004, we are setting targets of 120 exhibitors, 1500 booth units, and more than 150,000 visitors. To play a role in further developing the computer entertainment industry, we will focus on the following goals:

The TOKYO GAME SHOW will cover all kinds of computer entertainment for a wide range of visitors by:
>> Mobilizing family visitors through the promotion of our Kid's Area
>> Ensuring recruitment of new exhibitors in markets such as online games, mobile phones, peripherals, and development tools.

The TOKYO GAME SHOW will set the pace in the world market as an extraordinary event for connecting with Asian, U.S., and European markets by:
>>Ensuring recruitment of overseas exhibitors from Korea, Taiwan, China, the U.S., and elsewhere.
>> Expanding event promotion for overseas visitors.
>> Enhancing "Business Day" by improving our TGS Forum programs and exploring further uses of the business meeting rooms.

In addition to the above objectives, plans will be developed to satisfy a wide variety of visitor needs by conducting assorted stage programs and the like.
CESA and Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. will work together to make the TOKYO GAME SHOW not only an event providing the latest information on computer entertainment but also an event providing excitement, dreams, and hopes for people around the world.

Please look forward to TOKYO GAME SHOW 2004!
