The Tokyo Game Show '99 Autumn started with the opening ceremony at 9:30.
A great number of new software and hardware drew attention, and exhibition halls were full of feverish excitement like the general admission days.
At the event stage, Mr. Ken Kutaragi, the president of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., had a special lecture on next-generation's digital entertainment.

At the briefing room, some exhibitors announced their new titles and Korea Game Promotion Center reported the current situation of the Korean game industry.

The traditional costume contest, "The Best Costume in TOKYO GAME SHOW '99 AUTUMN" was held at the event stage. Capcom Co.,Ltd. won the first prize followed by COSPA Inc. And SUN CORPORATION and Victor Interactive Software Inc. received the special award.
"CESA Developers' Conference Tokyo 1999"(CEDEC TOKYO 1999) and other symposiums were also held at Makuhari Messe along with the Tokyo Game Show.
